One year after the creation of the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (LSFI), a public-private partnership that aims to raise awareness, promote and develop Luxembourg's role as a sustainable finance hub, the non-profit association has launched the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Strategy. The Strategy defines a series of concrete actions to be observed, based on the recommendations of the Luxembourg Roadmap for Sustainable Financing, a document drafted in partnership with the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative.
The launch took place in the presence of the Minister of Finance, Pierre Gramegna, and the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development, Carole Dieschbourg, during a virtual event attended by around 300 participants, including national and international experts, sustainable finance stakeholders and the press.
The Strategy defines a general action plan with a main objective to support the financial sector in its transition to sustainability and to further Luxembourg’s role as an international hub for sustainable financing. The LSFI will thus aim to become a knowledge sharing and developing platform in order to contribute to new activities and initiatives, and advance the sustainable finance agenda.
