On 5 October 2020, the Embassy and the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office held the 3rd annual meeting with Luxembourg businesses based in the UAE. This year the meeting was held virtually.
During the meeting, HE Elisabeth Cardoso, Ambassador of Luxembourg in Abu Dhabi and Mr. Loïc Bertoli, Director of the LTIO presented a political and economic outlook for the UAE.
Guest speakers Stephen Anderson and Richards Boxshall from PWC shared their analysis of the challenges faced by the regional economies in the current situation and on the “Transition to The New Normal” for companies. Diversification and digitalization were mentioned as two important topics for the future for the UAE economy.
Luxembourg companies in the UAE also shared their insights about challenges and opportunities for their businesses in the UAE and the region.
The meeting also focused on the upcoming Expo2020 Dubai and the opportunities it presents for Luxembourg companies. Mr. Steven Koener from the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce presented the different trade missions focusing on different sectors that will be organized during Expo2020 by Luxembourg.
