The Luxembourg delegation and representatives of the audiovisual sector promote the film in the UAE

Representatives of “FilmFund Luxembourg” Françoise Lentz and Guy Daleiden and animated films producer Stephan Roelants (Melusine Productions) and Laurent Witz (Zeilt productions) travelled to the UAE to participate in the 2nd edition of the "European Film Screenings".

The festival, which runs from Oct. 21 to 31, 2015 in conjunction with Dubai and Abu Dhabi, is under the patronage of the Embassy of the Grand Duchy and organized in collaboration with the "Lëtzebuerger Filmfong", this in the context of Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Luxembourg co-production "Song of the Sea" was the opening film of the festival, the screenings also include a special section dedicated to Luxembourg short films.

The delegation led by Nicole Bintner, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the UAE and accompanied by Marc Scheer Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office met with His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Development Community in order to discuss developments in the audiovisual production in their respective countries.

The Director of the Fund, gave a presentation of the sector of the Luxembourg audiovisual production to members of the "Benelux Business Council" chaired by Vania Henry. Guy Daleiden was able to highlight the diversity of the national economy especially in the cultural and creative industries.

Throughout the trip, the delegation was able to learn and become familiar with the audiovisual sector in the UAE, at several meetings with officials of the Commission of Dubai films and television and Abu Dhabi Film Commission, Sanad film fund, the director of the Dubai Film Festival, as well as national distributors.

The delegation also took a tour of the production infrastructure at Dubai Studio City which was very instructive.
